Single Phase Brake Motors With Gradual Brake – Series EMPMotek's single phase brake motors series EMP with gradual brake are optimal in applications which require gradual and noiseless load stopping without any particular need for precision.
They are designed to both ensure user's safety and prevent damage to machine parts. The resin-filled capacitor fitted to the frame minimizes the size of the terminal box while ensuring high performance and vibration and noise levels reduced to a minimum. A version where the capacitor is fitted inside the contact box is also available. These motors are ideal for operating low inertia loads as well as for ventilation. The braking torque – non adjustable – corresponds to the pressure of springs which, when no voltage is applied, keep the brake disc in contact with the internal surface of the cast iron fan.
To release the brake, feed the electromagnet via a rectifier. If necessary, the air gap adjustment screw can be reached without removing the fan cover.
